Instagram is receiving the same sort of hate from users who believe the social media platform is a place where you can find celebrities and other influencers and that’s why it’s changing its terms of service to make it easier to report abusive content.
The new service will help users report hate speech that violates the company’s terms.
The new service also allows users to create a new account and log in to the platform.
“We don’t believe it’s fair to expect Instagram to be the place where people can report content that violates their terms of agreement,” Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said in a statement.
“We want people to be able to report content they feel is unacceptable on Instagram, but we also want them to have the tools to make that report.
We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re introducing a new way to report hate.”
Instagram has long faced criticism for its handling of hate content.
A series of videos uploaded to Instagram in 2016 showed an unidentified man who was reportedly filming a hate crime video.
In response, the company announced it would launch a new system for users to report such content.
Instagram will soon also introduce a tool that will let users share information about hate speech on the platform and remove it, which will include the name of the person or group responsible for the hate speech and the date and time the content was posted.
